Do you know exactly what mistakes were made when you ran the numbers initially? Why did they end up wanting out? Welcome to the forums, it's a really great place to learn. 

The individual crypto-currencies seem too volatile for me, but I am interested in the blockchain technology. I want to understand it better than I do right now, but apparently on top of possibly decentralizing banks, it could play a roll in driverless cars. It may play a large roll across a lot of different industries in the future, could be a lucrative thing to get involved in now. I'm going to do more research on it to get a better understanding. 

It’s easy to fall into the “it’s too late” mindset for anyone at any age. I say 10, save some money and pick something up on the side. In 20 years you’ll only be in your 50’s and glad you did.

I’d say it’s a no brainer. Rent or two more months at home to own. Two months goes fast.

I would put some of it in gold. I’ve been putting about 10-15% of any extra cash, on top of about 7% of my weekly investable income, I have into it slowly stockpiling.

I would take the popcorn down (there’s plenty of tutorials on YouTube) then I’d buy boxes of compound and do a heavy knockdown texture. It covers imperfections with text but remains flat so it has a nice modern look. It’s what I prefer. A little more work than just spraying orange peel but not much and I think the benefits are big.

@Jonathan Twombly, have you looked right across the bridge into Beacon? I live 20 minutes down i84 and have been interested in that market. I'm planning on buying something after the summer and had been interested in that area. There's an artist named Alex Grey (did the Tool album covers) and he's building a massive temple on his property called CoSM that has been attracting massive amounts of people, it's really revitalizing the area, it's a national attraction. That, on top of the fact that it's locked in on 3 sides by the Hudson River, i84, and the tip of the Taconic Ridge, steep mountains that cant be developed. I personally know a lot of people my age that have been moving there, seems to be emerging. NYC population keeps migrating north, I'm curious what you're thoughts are on Beacon or if you've looked into it at all. I appreciate your responses, they're all very informative.
