Hello...I currently own a condo in Naples. Are you looking to rent it out to snowbirds for the "peak season" (Jan-April)?? I do not use a management company just because it is so easy to find renters for that time of the year.  You can easily market it on VRBO and get many inquiries a day.  Also, a lot of the time the same renters want to come back, which in my case I've had the same renters the last 3 years.

I would recommend getting a homewatch that can handle and issues that may come up while they are renting or to check on the property while it is vacant. Also, be aware of the HOA and the rules with rent (i.e weekly, monthly). Some HOAs only allow long term rentals (min 30 days).

Naples is a great area and is very popular for the snowbirds traveling in the winter.  Best of Luck!

Hello, I am in the market for my first long term rental that will most likely be an out of state purchase.

I was wondering if anyone has ever used or heard of the company home invest (homeinvest.com) or a company similar to it.  From what I gathered it is a company that does the real estate investing for you and takes a percentage.  You invest with them through personalized strategies and they find properties in which you can invest in. However, it seems they are limited to certain markets.

I wanted to know if anyone had experience using them or if I should use them for it being my first time looking for a long term rental??

Does anyone have or own rental properties in Orlando. Looking to get into the rental (vacation, buy and hold) investments in the Orlando market. Any insight or information would be great!

@Thuy Twee Nguyen I actually just listened to a podcast the other day which mentioned Orlando was in the top 3 of markets to invest in. Might be a good entry point!

Hi! I am recently new to real estate investing and wanted to learn more about ways to get started. I currently have a job playing hockey (October-April) which allows me to have the summer months off. I would like to start investing and building a real estate portfolio and possibly generate some passive income. I do own a place in Florida that I rent out during the winter months while I am away so I am familiar with rentals but would like to get into wholesale or flips. Any advice on where or what to pursue would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing any insight!
