I was able to get instructions for form IR-25 and it clearly stated that tax is due only on income earned in Columbus. That clarifies the question.

Thanks Randy, Yes but I think they should only charge on any income earned in OH. I think I should skip entering any out of OH income, but yes I will consult a CPA.

Hello,

I live out of state, but bought a couple of properties in Columbus, OH last year. Do I need to file Columbus City Tax for IR-25? For last year, I have a rental income loss.

It seems they want to charge tax on my entire W2 income which is earned in California. I am not sure why they would do that. That would imply I will be double-taxed once in my state and once in OH. Any advise on how to navigate this?

Thanks,

@Dave Skow yes I did 25% down. Per Zillow and Redfin estimates, it shows it should sell for about the same price..but not sure what the ground realities are now with increased interest rates. So far, after reviewing the prospects and my life priorities, I will try to sell one of the units to reduce risk and keep one as a longer term investment.

@Paul Moore, thanks yes I had been thinking about it but I had thought that it was only for accredited investors. But I will explore that option as well for future.

Also, a clarification on the frequent emails I was mentioning with my PM. I don't mind them sending me frequent updates, but what I was referring to is that I have to send frequent emails to them for follow-up.
