Post: Cahokia, Il SFR's Buy and Hold?

I am new to investing in the St. Louis market. I was wondering what some of the local investors think of investing in SFR's for buy and hold and cashflow in the Cahokia, Il sub market. Is this a growing area, are people leaving the area, are there any jobs here? Is this a good rental market. I see from the crime maps that there is not much crime here, however the US census shows a decrease in population. Is it easy to commute to St. Louis for work? The schools seem pretty low on the Greater schools site. Any other input on viability to invest in a portfolio of homes in this sub market would be appreciated. Thanks, Gary
