@Kaci Hunter Send me a colleague request on here and we can discuss a couple of management options for Airbnb in Lubbock. My fiancé and I currently have three listings we manage and will be adding a fourth by the end of the month.

Both my fiancé, Carrie Penney and I were on the same page when it came to house hacking. We lost one of our two roommates over a year ago and decided to give Airbnb a shot. Once we both saw that Airbnb was bringing in double the typical rent and paying our entire mortgage we didn't look back. Luckily our house is setup with a separate entrance for Airbnb guests which we doored off and separated from the rest of the house. It also helps that we live upstairs. If you can get your spouse to agree to give Airbnb or having someone rent your basement a try, hopefully the extra cash coming in will help in convincing her to continue doing it.

@Bruce Ellerd, It definitely sounds like we are in a similar boat with lots of sellers pushing up the prices in the market. It doesn't help that many newer investors here are willing to pay these higher prices. I see it on the lending side all the time. People want to purchase investment properties so badly with as little cash down as possible that their properties only marginally cash flow.

Glad you're here, Henry. I'm a few hours away from you in Lubbock but I love making it down to Austin when I get a chance. Airbnb has been a big factor as well in peaking my interest in Real Estate investing. 

As far as the tiny homes go, have you had a chance to work on any of those yet? We visited Tumbleweed Tiny Houses in Colorado Springs last year and were really impressed by them. How well are they accepted in the Austin area?

@Bruce Ellerd, Carrie, my fiance, and I were just in Albuquerque a few days ago. I really like that city, especially their craft beer scene. How is the investing there for you, especially in terms of price compared to a market like Lubbock? The market here, like most places, is continuing to stay hot right now. Texas Tech is pushing about 37,000 student now which really boosts our rental market, especially anywhere within a couple mile vicinity of campus.
