Interesting resources there Roxcy. That is really helpful to see how the big players construct their signs.

Just a side note to anyone... you might want to think twice about actually duplicating everything on these signs. It may change someone's perception of a big-name company, which could lead to trouble...

You also might want to check out businessbroker.net. Personally though, it looks like bizquest.com is better, but I am not sure since I have never used them.

There's nothing wrong with using traditional offline marketing as well (i.e. ads, classifieds, etc.)

Sort of... bird-dogging is the idea of you finding quality investments and notifying investors about them. In return, if the investors believe you found a good investment, they will buy the house and pay you a 'finders fee' on top of it. In short, this is what bird-dogging is; you find quality investments and notify investors of them so you can get the finder's fees.

Hmm... now you got me interested. There has to be some sort of resource on the web that has been tracking this. I think I am going to scout around a little. I'll post if I find anything promising...

Another thing you might check out (even though this isn't directly related to your question) is to check this forum for acquiring motivated sellers. I remember stumbling into at least one and it may provide you with some great information to help with your endeavors.

I don't know... while phone calls would definitely be easier and more convenient for you, I would think door knocking would be more effective. That instills the image that you are actively looking for leads. Plus you would probably have more success in person-to-person chats versus just phone calls.

thanks for the tips!

You wouldn't believe some of the information you can get from the post office. Especially since a good chunk of it is public domain info.

PPC: Set yourself up with a PPC (Pay Per Click) account with Google Adwords, MSN AdCenter and/or Yahoo Search Marketing and use geo-targeting to target people down to the zip code using typical keywords like "sell my house". Even the super popular keywords should be usable since you are using geo targeting. Just make sure in your ad you state where you are interested in buying houses.

How is that ad running for you Michael? Are those circles part of the ad? I've noticed that ads that have a 'handwritten' element seem to do better in classifieds (at least, with my tests).
