@Sheri Fluellen I would recommend reaching out to your local Realtor association. Let them know how(letters,signage,tv,radio whatever) and what you want to advertise(your message) and ask them if it meets their guidelines of not ask them what to change. Hope that helps.

@Oliver Luz I would just put one in each room like living room and bedrooms. Takes 5 minutes to install you dont need a pro to help, easy peasy.

@Michael Nijhawan

Sounds good as long as you are getting value from the mentor. Also this may be obvious but make sure you like the mentor and can connect with them. Be open about your goals and what you expect from the relationship. Sounds good though, if they can help you through those first 3 transactions then you're getting value and that's worth the split. Then you can move onto a regular split with the brokerage.

@Michael Nijhawan I work for KW in Arlington and a lot of the education they provide costs $. I would ask 2 things- Is the education they are providing through their "BOLD" classes, which cost money to be part of? There are plenty of Agent classes out there that you can pay for in which you don't need to be a member of any specific brokerage. And ask if you can get the contact info of a newer agent who has joined the office and ask them what worked for them and how much of that was provided by KW? Not a bad idea to just get an overall feel for the office as well.  If the office is providing free classes that actually give real value and has worked for other agents then it's worth taking a deeper look. How much of this education is printed on a piece of paper and handed to you to read and how much is class education with a real person you can talk to?

@Michael Nijhawan One thing to consider is how much time you are going to put into generating leads, if you are a solo agent you are going to have to dive deep into generating leads. If you join a team sometimes those leads are generated for you and can save you a lot of time when starting off. They do take a portion of your commission so you split with your team and with the Brokerage. Definitely talk to these companies in person and see what their training looks like and how their commission splits work. When looking at a team like Debbie's, see if they provide leads or what kind of team training they provide so you can get those leads.

@George H. Where in Northern Virginia? If you are in certain neighborhoods in Arlington or Alexandria City/Oldtown right next to Amazon you will see more of an increase than if you are somewhere in Fairfax. That can be a big difference, where is the home? Is it a condo/TH/SFH? How long do you plan on holding on to the property before selling it if you were to rent it out?
