Thank you all again,

the debt is the remainder of my car loan, an indulgence of mine reflecting my age i suppose, however, I do pride myself on doing the due diligence on the purchase. More importantly, I made a plan for paying it off within two years, and am on track to exceed my expectations.

My goals in regard to RE, are going to be using that time until the debt is paid off to best educate myself as everyone suggests, then to build enough of a cushion for expenses of purchasing and down payment, as well as emergency funds.

I definitely understand how easy it is to let confidence become arrogance, and thus, leading yourself to ruin. I want to make sure that doesn't happen to me, and it is encouraging to know i'm on the right path.

Thanks for the warm reception everybody. I am sure I will learn so much in the next few months while I'm paying off my car and preparing for my first steps... Nice to meet everyone, especially someone from my area :)

I would just like to say first off, thank you everyone from the founder to my fellow newcomers; especially everyone in between, for what you have here. Now to give you a little info about me, in this, an about me post. My name is Stephen Underhill, and I am 21 years old. I recently started (3-4 months)as a salaried assistant manager at "fast food burger chain, USA."

Since then, and before I consider any investments, I am using the addition income from my job to pay off all outstanding debt and then saving for a down payment with an FHA loan, and funds any necessary repairs.

To be clear, I am not looking for any get rich quick scheme, but looking toward building a more stable future for myself. My main purpose, in regards to Bigger Pockets, is to soak in as much useful information as I can, and then apply it towards my first purchase.

Well, thank you for your time, everybody, and for those involved, thank you for providing a venue for people such as myself to further themselves and perhaps begin to develop a future in real estate.
