Hey @curtdavis, I went digging into a vacant near my home and found that it just got foreclosed on a 2k tax lien. I'm about 1 month too slow as I don't have resources yet to go through the bidding process now. I did realize that I spent too much time on one vacant but I learned a lot spending my morning at city hall talking to Assessor's, DPD and Inspectional services.

I went driving for dollars this weekend and spotted numerous properties; two of which is vacant and boarded up. I went digging around the county assessors website and could not find much history on either properties except for names of the owner. Does this mean there is no mortgage? I assume they don't live there because it's boarded up but I could not find any forwarding address either. My next step is to go to the assessor's office but I can't make it there until Monday. Is there anyway to find out more in the meantime?

Hi Anne,

Welcome to BP! I am new also. Just got my act together and have started marketing for wholesale deals. I currently live in Lowell and will be developing my investment activities in this area.

I don't have any good advice as of yet except that @biggerpockets is by far the best resource.

Welcome!

Hi All!

I'm a newbie located in Lowell, MA. I work in Boston currently as a accounting/finance consultant. Actually, I split my time between Boston and Philadelphia. I've been a spectator of the real estate industry for too many years now and have finally motivated myself to get in the game! I signed up to BP a few months ago where I just lurked around until I finally completed my profile recently. I have been listening to the wonderful podcasts over the last couple of weeks and finally get the general message from all guest - Stop procrastinating! Well, somewhere along that line.

I will be starting out focusing my efforts in the Lowell area particularly trying to get my first wholesale deal. Over the next couple of weeks I will be implementing a direct mail campaign to get some leads so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anyways, I am very excited and look forward to being involved, learn from everyone's journey, grow, network and becoming successful with everyone in this community. I hope to share a successful story soon! If not, at least share what I learned.
