Post: Hiring Someone to Search Craigslist

I have a friend who is interested in working for me to generate leads on craigslist.

What would be a good system I could use for this to be effective?

Should I pay them by the hour, by the lead, or per deal completed?

How would their time be best spent? Should they call for sale by owner or landlords offering rentals? Or is their time better spent posting "we buy houses" ads?

Do I need to treat them like a w2 employee or can this by done on an informal basis?

The purpose of this is to find rental properties to invest in in chicagoland.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Howdy Ya'll!

My wife and I just moved from Houston, TX to Naperville, IL where I have a  new job as an actuary.

A few months ago, I read Rich Dad Poor Dad, which led me to BiggerPockets. I've been listening to the podcasts for a few months now and want to get my feet wet.

I am looking to buy-and-hold a few <$200K multi-family units in and around Aurora, IL and am looking to connect with real estate enthusiasts in the area who could offer some advice or know of any potential units for sale that are not on MLS.

I look forward to connecting!
