I have talked to a couple people about partnering up but the folks I have managed to chat with thus far havent been able to bring anything to the table that I cant do myself and dont seem to be as knowledgeable about multifamily buy and holds as id like them to be.

I am more than confident in my abilities to run a property after my first purchase, its a matter of finding a lender and building a bit more capital.

As of right now im just networking as much as possible in the area trying to find potential partners and working my tail off to make more money that way.

Im not necessarily set on a partnership but I am keeping an open mind about it and talking with people every opportunity I get.

I am a college student as well so that limits my time a bit more and also my ability to work crazy hours hours to make money quickly. I need to keep a healthy balance in order to keep my grades up.

yeah I imagine you learned so much stuff you probably cant learn from podcasts and reading.

Thats cool man. Im not much of a handy man but have basic knowledge of how to do plumbing drywall and all that fun stuff.

My plan is for the first property i purchase not to get something that needs a butt load of work. Im going to shoot for minor updates and plan on moving in and managing it myself. I have good connections with a contractor that ive actually worked for on some of his projects flipping homes. So thats good but i just need to be patient and wait for the right opportunity.

What makes you want to go out towards Eugene for the next property ? Real estate in general has to be cheaper out there. Its a bit of a drive though. Do you manage your 4 plex yourself?

ive just started familiarizing myself with with the different areas around Portland. I'm in the same boat as you it is a bit inflated for the resources I have going forth. I have been targeting the surrounding areas more or less not necessarily Portland.

I currently am finishing up my degree and working so all of this is in the spare time I have. Eventually I'd like to make it my primary focus.

How did your first deal turn out? Do you still own that property and how is it performing if you do?

Thank you Andrew. Where abouts in the KC metro area are you investing in and what type of properties?

The reason I ask is because I was raised in a Kansas City suburb and live there for almosty 20 years

My name is Ethan Johnson. I am new to the Portland area. Recently I have been listening to the biggerpockets podcast and have become very interested in real estate investing. Multifamily buy and hold properties seem to be what I have my eyes on currently. I have not done any deals yet but plan on following through with that. im currently learning as much as I can about all aspects before i go ahead and pull the trigger. I have been reaching out and trying to network in the area and find a good mentor to possibly allow me to pick their brain on buy and hold multifamily properties. So far I have raised some capital and will continue to do so until i find the right opportunity. Thanks. Hope to hear from some local investors

Ethan
