I called the city of Fort Worth and they said they don’t issue Certificate of Occupancy for residential properties(this is confusing to me since I’m LA you need CofO for any remodel and to occupy the structure). Would it be legal for me to rent out the house with the unpermitted room? Will an appraiser include the extra addition? Could I be fined?

I haven’t closed in this deal yet just wondering if I should get it permitted or just rehab the floor and paint and avoid permits.

Thank you
