Hello @Omar Messallam All areas up here are hot right now. What you'll find is that most flippers like to stick to their side of the rivers. So you will find lots of people in all areas, just group them by the section they focus on. I personally go anywhere in Hampton Roads...I don't understand what the big deal is about driving across a bridge or tunnel ;-)

Hello @Jude Akpunku and congratulations on taking the steps to get into an investment property. I'd be happy to take a look at the deal and give you my opinion. Email or PM me the details.

That's awesome. BP is a great resource for us all. Thank you BP team for making this an awesome place to learn and socialize. I wonder how many @Brandon Turneraliases he created to help reach this milestone... :)

Hello @Joshua Wright and welcome to BP and to REI in the Tidewater area. I started pretty much the same way...listening to hour after hour of podcasts on my way to and from work and on long road trips. I typically listen at 2.2x speed to get more in per minute, and then get to work and talk too fast for people to understand me :)

I look forward to meeting you at TRIG or one of the area meetups.

@Marcello Oliveri They all have good areas and bad areas, but as a general rule any area priced at $30-40K per door is going to cost you more in maintenance and management. If you have a good property management company it could work for you. Norfolk is @Patti Robertson favorite city to buy and hold.

Hello @Danquone Williams and welcome! This is a great place to learn and network. Is there a particular area of REI you are planning to focus on?

I completed the survey and indicated I would consider paying for it, but I think it is a slippery slope for BP and could end up driving members off the platform. So tread cautiously.

Hello @Stephen Nadraus and congratulations on your first duplex! Deciding whether to put your property into an LLC at this point in your investing portfolio is a personal decision and best figured out with a qualified CPA (tax implications) and attorney (liability implications). But to help you start forming an opinion, check out some of the great blogs posted on BP about this subject: https://www.biggerpockets.com/search/wordpress?ter...

I personally put mine into an LLC. I have an accountant and she seems great, but I haven't actually done my taxes with her yet so I'm not ready to recommend her. I'm sure other folks will provide their recommendations, and I'm also curious what they say.

I use Janet McCaskey of Members Assurance Property & Casualty. @Patti Robertson recommended her to me a few months back and she has been great.
