Welcome to BP Michelle Eisenberg ! I’m new to the community here as well and looking to invest in the Midwest as well. For us Bay Area folk I think this makes a lot of sense. Just curious...What (other than the fact that you’ve lived there before) draws you towards St. Louis as a investment market?
@Aziz Raji - Thanks for reaching out! I see you’re from Wisconsin! Go Badgers! My Grandpa played basketball on the championship team in the 40’s and I’ve always been a fan. Anyways, I’ve been looking for markets outside California that have lower housing costs. I must say however that I haven’t really looked into the markets in Wisconsin. Are you seeing good cash flow from people investing in the markets out there?
@Ali Boone - Thanks for the response! And yes you are right... Santa Cruz certainly does not suck! It sure has changed over the years but it will always be home for me! Venice Beach ain’t too shabby either! I’d love to learn more about Hipster Investments and turnkey investing. Do you invest locally in California or out of state? I’ve been thinking out of state just due to the high housing costs in CA. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks!
Thanks for the quick responses! BP community is certainly active! @Robert Deforge - Good to know there are some other SC folks on BP. I would love to grab a coffee and talk shop if you’re interested! Out of town at the moment but will be back next week. I’ll send you a DM when I get home.
Hi BP Community! My name is Eric Van Vliet and I have been reading articles on bigger pockets for a few months but this is my first post! I have some experience with passive real estate investing (One SFR generating $200/month cash flow) but still consider myself a newbie due to the very passive role I had in this investment. I am looking to significantly grow my portfolio this year with a focus on out-of-state multi-family buy and hold as my preferred strategy (but open to other types of REI!). I’m looking to connect with other investors in the area in the area in an effort to learn more about REI, and start growing my portfolio any way I can!
