Quote from @Dusty Bowling:

I’ve used equity trust a couple times in the past with private investors. Everything worked out pretty smooth.

Thanks Dusty! I'll check them out!

I’m am going to move a 401k I have from a previous employer over to self directed 401k account so I can buy some real estate or invest in a syndication. Does anyone have experience with (or know of) a good self directed 401k custodian? So far I’ve heard some good things about Quest but are there any other companies I should look into?

@Kiera Underwood - My definition of turnkey is a house that has been professionally renovated and managed by one company. As James has pointed out, the more important piece is the house and neighborhood as the management can be changed of course.

@James Wise - Agreed! The house and it's location are the most important. I'll check out the Cleveland neighborhood guide, thanks for the tip!

@Sonny Dhillon - I'll shoot you a PM shortly :)

@Alvin Uy - Resurrected from the dead! I was super surprised to get the notifications that there were new comments on this thread! A lot has happened in the last year! I bought a house for my wife and I to live in here in CA which obviously took most of my investing money. I am also getting ready to launch a sports supplement brand (ARBOR ORGANICS) which has also been keeping me busy. However, I'm still super interested in OOS investing and am looking to get back on track when I have saved up a little more money probably early 2020.

@Scott Titus - I've been able to connect with a few realtors that say they know of good people but haven't gotten names or contact info yet. Do you know of any good contractors in the KC area?

Starting to build out my team in KC but haven't been able to connect with any contractors yet. Looking for contractors that are professional, trustworthy, and who have great communication skills (experience working with investors - preferably out of state - is a HUGE plus). I don't have any active deals going right now but I am planning for the future. Would love any recommendations the BP community can provide!

Thanks,

I am also interested in feedback on experiences with the Storybook team.

Good Morning BP!

Looking at some properties in KC and have found some interesting opportunities in the 66104 zip code. Does anyone have any property or experience with rentals there? Just wondering about vacancy, quality of tenant, etc. Let me know what you think!

Thanks,

Eric Van Vliet

@Steve Rozenberg - Thanks for the tip! I'll check out the NARPM site!

Hello Fellow BP'ers!

I'm an out of state investor actively looking to invest in SF & Small MF (2-4 units) properties in Kansas City and need a rock star property manager. Having a great property manager I can trust is CRITICAL to meeting my investment goals. If you are a professional, trustworthy and experienced property manager in Kansas City (or know one!) please send me your info and let's talk. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks,

Eric Van Vliet
