Folks, I'm going to be closing on my new house on 30 AUG. I will be arriving in town two weeks before that and I'm wondering if it's possible to propose renting the home for those two weeks. I understand their could be some tenant law issues with that which would make a seller hesitant to agree.

Otherwise, it would be very helpful if I could just put a few items in the garage while we wait to close. Do you think that would constitute the same problems as being a full blown tenant?

I want to make sure the seller feels protected but also don't really want to move stuff into storage and then have to move it again after closing.

This is great info folks! I’m on the other side of the coin, hoping to move in or at least have a place to put some of my stuff before closing. Clearly you all don’t recommend moving in but would you also have an issue with allowing a buyer to put some things in the garage as some folks have suggested?
