@Robin Searle. I would like to thank you for turning me on your brother and sister-in-law. Eric and Sally are great people and have shown to be exceptional realtors. On one days notice I flew down to see them and they dropped everything to show me about 16 houses over two days, one of those days being Sunday. We’ve put a bid in on one house so we’ll see how it goes.

They not only are showing me houses but educating me on all things Florida which is great.

I am looking for a good Realtor in or around the Venice, Florida area. We’re house hacking a duplex here and we’re ready to buy a second home in Florida. Can anyone help me out with someone that can help.

So with Section 8, how do you qualify the tenant?  Do you work directly with Section 8 to fill a vacancy or does a tenant come to you and say they are Section 8? Does Section 8 just place a tenant in the unit if you tell them you accept Section 8?

Yes, what’s typically involved with the inspections? Are they basically looking for it to be safe and not completely falling apart?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. This fourplex looks promising and I wasn’t really worried too much about the idea of it being section 8 tenants. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything obvious as I’m new at this and have never dealt with that sector before. Everyone’s comments have been extremely helpful. The Bigger Pockets crowd is always the best.

Looking at a four-plex that all four are currently section 8. The numbers look good, two the tenants have been long term, two new ones.

At first look the section 8 looks like no big deal, should I be worried by this?

I assume this meet up is still on going for the last Thursday of the month?  I would like to attend as I am looking to network and start building a portfolio. I'm new to all of this for the most part.
