@Max T. Thanks for the advice. If you don't mind sharing, which neighborhoods in Philly are your properties located?

Hi everyone,

I have been actively looking for a small multifamily home in South Jersey (specifically, Gloucester, Camden, and Burlington counties) to house hack. So far, I haven't been able to find anything that may be a deal and that is also something I would want to live in. I am keeping an open mind and may expand my search to Philly and Delaware, but since my day job is in NJ, I would like to stay here. Does anyone have any experience with these markets? Should I change my criteria, or should i just be patient and wait for the right property to come along in Jersey? I am brand new to REI, so any advice and suggestions are much appreciated!

Hi @Scott Lewis

Thanks for the welcome.  I figured as much!  I haven't listened to a "bad" episode yet. :D

Hi @Georgeanna Tracey Newmones,

Thanks for your response!  It is great to see so many other South Jersey folks on here.  I just discovered BiggerPockets within the past couple months, but everything I have learned has already opened up a new world for me.  Good luck to you as well - I hope you are able to add to your portfolio soon!

Hi @James Masotti,

Thanks for your response!  That is great advice.  Looking forward to attending a meetup, hopefully soon.  I gotta check out your BiggerPockets episode, too.  I don't think I've listened to that one!

Hi everyone! My name is Eric Luzier and I am an aspiring investor, located in southern New Jersey, about 10 minutes from Philly and 45 minutes from Atlantic City. I am 27 and recently married. I am currently employed as a Behavior Therapist and would like to venture into real estate, specifically small multifamily buy and hold investing. Currently, my husband and I have begun the process of talking to lenders and looking at properties. We have been living in a condo for three years that we bought as a foreclosure, so we have some equity and some additional cash saved up. We would love to sell our condo and enter the game by house hacking, but we are looking at all options. I am eager to connect with other investors through BiggerPockets! Anyone else from South Jersey or the Delaware Valley?
