I am now a full time investor... And have just made it through my first year!

I have been investing part time many years before taking the BIG "leap".

Spent many years both in the mortgage business and in real estate, so that has really helped.

Well... as with many areas it varies throughout the State. But seeing you are from L.A. an easy way to say it would be something like...

Triple the house for 1/3 the price. If you pay 1 Million for a home here, you are living like a king. :)

Im am glad I joined as well. Im am looking forward to expanding my knowledge… (I think there is still room up there) :0

Well… to answer a few questions… I have been playing around with Real Estate a long time… Many, many years. I always had another “job” and did investing as mostly a side line.

Previously I had spent 12 years in the mortgage business as the owner of the company, and also owned a Real Estate company for several years as well.

I was tired and ready for a change… Tired of the “desk job”, so I made the decision to take the plunge and go full time with Real Estate Investing. Just got my first year under my belt and look forward to at least doubling what I have done this last year.

As far as the Oregon and Washington markets…
As with any State there are good and not as good things going on in the Real Estate world. As a whole, the values are staying strong and property is still appreciating, though not as much as they have in previous years… but still appreciating.

The biggest problem now is being the slow time of the year, topped with the mortgage world in a roar, causing sales to slow down and the marketing times have increased causing a lot of inventory on the market.

Still a good market in my opinion… And with all the people in a panic, and a lot of inventory, and things not selling as fast… seems like a buyers market to me!

Time to buy em up!

Thank You again to all who welcomed me…
and to all… Have a Merry Christmas and a profitable 2008!
