What do you guys think of books about investing with no money down? Is no money down investing more common in the US than in Canada?

Hi everyone. I just finished reading Brandon Turner's "The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down." While aimed at an American audience, this still got me interested in investing in Vancouver using creative financing. 

I have saved up $10,000. Is there anyway I can invest in buy-and-hold properties (or flip properties) with this amount of money using creative financing?
