Thanks @Jon McCarron! I was also looking at the Salem area for lower entry points, so what you've told me is reassuring (of course I'll have to do my research to see whether the potential for property appreciation will still be as high as it's been). And the 3/4 > 2-family point is super helpful - will definitely keep that in mind. Thank you so much!  

Hi everyone! I'm really new to real estate (and BP), but have saved up enough to hopefully make my first purchase by the end of this year. I was wondering if anyone else is thinking of doing the same, and what type of strategy you're going for / what neighbourhoods? I'd prefer to stick to MA simply for proximity being a first investment! Happy to be part of this community, and thanks in advance everyone!
