@Brian Hall - I am researching a couple of first time home buyers programs and trying to set a forecast on when I am ready for my first "Hack." Ill keep you posted

@Shawn Mcenteer - Its interesting you mention Budd Lake because I was born and raised there so I know the area well. Ill have to look into this area more.

@Jared Lichtin - I have joined several Meetups in my area and went to a Homebuyers expo so hopefully I can do some serious networking in the coming months to build my contacts and learn the local market.

@Bob Walters - I am looking in the North Jersey, Morris County area. Good luck in your area!

Thank you for your reply. I think my best option would be to buy a multi-family and live in half of it for a while. This way I have a place to my own that I can turn into monthly income quite easily. New Jersey has a lot of programs so I am trying to research all and plan my course accordingly.

Hello Everyone! My name is Emily Gerry, I am a young accountant from the Morris County area of New Jersey. Recently, I have been interested in Real Estate because a house came up for sale in my neighborhood and I wanted it. After talking with Mortgage brokers, etc. I was given a reality check into the ins and outs of Mortgage financing and how costly it is. Being a skeptic I know there have to be ways to break into this market for those with not much to offer initially. I like the idea of investing my money into tangible assets so real estate is a good avenue for myself. Right now I am in the process of networking, learning the market in my area, and exploring the different options in real estate.
