What we have found with our student rentals is that there are less insurance companies that will work student rentals.  When we went with our insurance provider there were only a few carriers that would cover student rentals!  Just be on the lookout for that!

Hey everyone! We are currently under contract for a vacation rental and just about 10 days out from closing...all of a sudden our bank is telling us they can't do the loan (of course after our financing contingency is up..grrrrr) because it would be our 6th financed property.   Anyone know of a company that would lend for a second home/investment as a 6th financed property???

@Mike Shemp How did you find an investor friendly realtor to work with.  We vacation in OBX every year and are starting to think about purchasing a property in the coming years.  Any recommendations on realtors or real estate companies?

Thanks!

Getting started in real estate can be overwhelming.  Especially when you feel like you don't know anything about real estate, financing or investing.

That's where I was just a few years ago.  Teaching Romeo and Juliet for my 5th year in a row and truly enjoying every minute of it.  However, my husband and I knew we wanted to find other ways to diversify our incomes.  So we jumped into rental property.  That's right...me with an English Education background.

Fast Forward a few years and we have grown our portfolio, investing in two different states and acquiring both single family units and multi families.

Now our mission is to help others who want to get started and don't know where to start.

Based off of our own investing experiences and trial and error, we created The Ultimate 9 Step Guide to   Buying Rental Property.

We've done a lot of reading, listening and surfing the web for easy to follow guides and there's just not much out there.  So check out our guide and follow our simple steps to get your first (or next) rental.

I know it can be overwhelming when you are starting out.  I was a born and raised teacher and knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about real estate and investing.

Over the last few years, my husband and I have grown our rental portfolio and are on a mission to help other "rookie" investors overcome the fear and take action.

We've created a website solely dedicated to rental property investing -www.rentalrookie.com and share tips, experiences, numbers, checklists, video tutorials and more for FREE.

Our mission is to be clear and concise and to help you start taking control of your financial future!

Check us out @ www.rentalrookie.com
