Insurance for my rental

I'm in the buying process of my first home and it's a rental property. I've never had home insurance before because I've never owned a home, I'm going to be renting to college students what are my insurance options/requirements. Also should I start an LLC? What's cheapest for me? *Lacrosse WI*
