@Adrienne Green Pre-covid I swore I would never rent again in my life..but after looking to buy for over a year in the greater Portland (Maine) region, I'm about ready to throw in the towel. Hopefully Chattanooga has a tad more inventory than up East..Thanks for you insight! Much appreciated.

@Eric Fung We're leaning towards renting, however would be open to buying should we stumble across a deal that we think is too good to pass up.

Hi all! My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to Chattanooga to follow a job opportunity. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light into some good areas to live/where to avoid?

My criteria would be a single family with a back yard (we have an almost 80lb golden..he's only 9 month old believe it or not). His work will be right downtown in city center so would like to be within a reasonable distance, no more than a 25 min commute. Would like to be close by walking paths/nature if possible. Ideally I would like the property to be in good standing condition and am OK if it's in need of cosmetic updates. I am an interior designer and would LOVE to do the renovation.

It has been a dream of mine to flip a home, however I keep hearing about a backlog in available contractors with their ever extensive demand. Does anyone have any insight into contractor availability (or lack there of) in Chattanooga's current climate?

If anyone has any insight and/or further questions for me, I would so much appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

Post: Looking for an architect for a commercial project

Hey all!

I am working on a redesign for a new restaurant coming to downtown Portland, Maine and am looking for an architect that has experience with commercial projects. This would be a quick turnaround, as the client is aiming to open in July/August of this year. I realize architects are SUPER busy at this time, but the client is aiming to open a few new restaurants in the area, so could lead to 2-3+ more projects down the line.

If anyone has any architect recommendations in the Portland area, it would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve heard great things about Greenville, seems like it’s really on the up. I’m gonna try to get over there, Wilmington too if I have the time. Thanks @Kenton LeVay!

Hi all! I am scoping out some areas in North Carolina for the next week or so and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on some good areas to check out? I've already hit Durham, Chapel Hill and am now in Raleigh, which has been my favorite so far, and still have Charlotte left to check-out. I'm looking to buy my first single family and would like for one it to be close to a college campus. Having it close to a body of water would be a plus, but not a requirement. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

@Dan Tunstall Thank you thank you! I lived in Boston for 4 years before moving to Maine so I feel your pain..I lived 2 miles from my work and would take me an hour to get in most days. Absolutely brutal. I do NOT miss that.
