Lesson learned on this one, I learn something new with every deal. It looks like we will have to pay an extra 400 at closing for the extension. Our contract does state 100 a day past the 26th, it doesn't specify that it has to be the buyers fault. I'm still left wondering exactly who didn't do their job.

I'm not really sure from what I'm getting from my realtor the bank and the title company were both closed on the 26th, so I have no idea why that date was picked, the title company is blaming the bank that owns the property and the bank is blaming the title company I do know that the title company did notify the bank that they were not open and they didn't get a response from the bank because the guy was out of town until today the 27th. So I still have no definite closing date or amount for closing and I'm not even sure who dropped the ball.

I'm ready to close on a house that I'm going to remodel. The bank missed the closing date and now they want to charge me 100 a day I'm ready to go this is a cash deal. Has anyone ran into this before. The bank picked the date 12/26. The title company requested an extension on the 19th because they were closed for Christmas on the 26th. The title company and my realtor were informed that the lender was out of town until the 27th, today, but we are going to have to pay 100 a day penalty for every day past the 26th evend though we have been ready for weeks.
