wow... I could not imagine my mom calling ANYONE for me...

Although I did have my wife call in sick for me once, only because I was so sick I couldn't even talk. The boss thought she was lying and said" he should go to the hospital. I will come and take him for you". He was shocked when she quickly agreed and thanked him (had 2 babies at home, so she wouldn't need to find a sitter now). I spent 4 days on IV before being sent home. Biggest "Get Well Soon" balloons were from the boss ;-)

Welcome to the party!

You may want to read up on what another member has gone through in the past FEW years in Cali trying to get rid of squatters...

Welcome!

I have a great realtor and mortgage guy in the Rockville/Venice/Manchester area if you need info on properties... the realtor is happy to run comps, etc for investors and the mortgage broker has never let me down.

Send me a PM if you would like her info (no relation other than past working relationship before I relocated to Florida)

Its an issue I deal with every day in my full-time career for a major RE company. It is a known issue that zillow has no interest in fixing at this time! The sad thing is that people fall for this scam EVERYDAY!!! Why would you ever send money without seeing the interior?

The best solution we have found is to watermark the photos... problem is that if you are using an MLS IDX to push the information, most MLS will not allow the watermarking of images yet.

Create a google search for the address and bookmark it. check it every day or 2. Not much else you can do! In their defense, Zillow does take down the bad listing rather quickly.

Best of luck!

Ed

Played with your pics a bit... Not the best but a little better...At least doesnt look like a basement apartment now.

I used to travel a ton, so I know how it sucks being away when something bad happens (plus my wife's family is in Fairfax VT, so I had to help out a VT-er)

So, Joel Owens you might check that out for your mom -- would hate for her to get locked out due to battery drain (granted they should still open with the key...) -- just throwing that out there.

I can vouch for this! I have the kwick set on 2 doors in my own house and when the batteries start to run low, the lock wont open all the way, causing you to be locked out! when it blinks telling you that the batteries are starting to go dead, REPLACE IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

Still love it! It also autolocks the door so I dont have to worry about the kids forgetting to lock the door.

If the community is "run down" and takes a higher than usual toll on the Polices' time, you can sometimes get the city to chip in with the relocation. At least that has worked with a few projects I have been involved in (had one where the town actually paid 100% of the removal and relocation costs in Bradenton FL due to the fact that 40% of all police calls in that district were for that 1 community).

Also, check with your states Manufactured Housing Association (most states have them, I think yours is called "Ohio Manufactured Home Assoc " rather than "Housing") . Often they have a relocation program to help move older homes out, but ONLY if you are committed to replacing with newer Manufactured Homes, which there is good money in!

Many communities have "autorenewing leases" or "99 year leases" so you may have an uphill battle. Best bet is to keep the area zoned as is and try and upgrade the community...like @Matt B. suggested.
