Greetings from Westchester,NY. My advised to you is to learn as much as you can about the different tactics and strategy's, I say so because in my experience the "DEAL" determines what type of strategy should be use, meaning THE MORE TOOLS , you have in your tool box ,the easier you will be able to identify how to proceed with your investment.

NYC is very expensive, how ever the are some areas outside of NYC that you should pay attention to and maybe consider, I live and invest in the city of Peekskill , Ny , which is 50m train ride from NYC , a lot of commuters. Any questions don't hesitate on reaching out.

Well let me give it a try. Have you consider WESTCHESTER,NY, specifically PEEKSKILL,NY. Its is 55ms from Grand Central, On the metro north line.  Prices have recently sky rocket but with some vision and some remodeling , you can find a good duplex for 350k to 450k . City of Peekskill  has become over the years a very lucrative place to live.  Any question let me know.

@Account Closed did you speak to a bank or broker on the refinance part of it, as to qualifying for a refinance ? I' been trying to the same but before I reached out to the hard money lenders, I made sure I was able to refinance.

@Sinil Kim I completely agreed with @John Hickey , Newburgh is having a complete change , My wife and I drive to Newburgh every Sunday trying to find our  next deal, its still has its rough neighborhoods that will take some time to change , but I recommend you to take a drive around Streets like Bay view Terrence and you'll see why there  so much potential (spoiler BEAUTIFULL VIEWS OF THE HUDSON ).

Now on the Westchester side , you can look into my favorite town of all PEEKSKILL NY, 10566, I been living here for almost 20years, I'm a newbie investor, I bought my first rental a year ago in Peekskill (4plex).  The town of Peekskill very hot rental market, We  just had a renter leave this month ,the 2B unit will be available may 1st , we already have around 10 prospects that want the APT without any marketing just word of mouth( will start marketing soon on social media , Cant wait to see how many people are interested).  We have a beautiful river front and train station 50 minutes you're  in grand central, Peekskill 15years ago was completely different  place, but slowly but surely , Peekskill is and has become amazing place to live.   If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. GOOD LUCK!!
