Hi Alejandro. I'm currently househacking a single family home rent by room and looking for my 2nd househack. I've talked to some lenders about how to make this work, and I've been given the advice that if you get a lease in place on the current property before closing on your second that can cover your debt to income ratio. For example if you're closing on your 2nd property April 15th you can have a lease on your first property signed that starts May 1st

I started out househacking a property in Houston, Tx. I had done a fair amount of research beforehand but I knew with househacking even if something went wrong it would be okay because I was living in the property.

Hi @Tanner Holligan , I'm a real estate agent in Houston. I think you can make it work, I was working full time when I started last year. I was able to learn, network, and get my real estate business up and running before transitioning to being an agent full time. I think a key is leveraging people to help you, such as connecting with other agents who could do showings for you on days you're not available. Hi all, the next Houston Househackers meetup is going to be Wednesday February 23rd. The focus of the meetup is networking, especially for househackers or rookie investors, but people of all experience levels are welcome to attend. In addition at the meetup we usually have a guest speaker talk about an interesting aspect of real estate investing. Come out and network with some fellow investors!
