Usually if I go to 'My Posts' in the Profile Section, I can see all the posts I've done.

However, now when I go, I can only see the most recent ones.

Where have they gone? How can I access them?

The Seoul Real Estate Investing Meetup, as posted about by the head guy himself, @Joshua Dorkin, (Link to Seoul Real Estate Investing Meetup Post), is proud to announce our next meetup - April 25, 1-3p, at the YoungSamSung Life Cafe in Hongdae.

Directions to the meetup:

https://www.evernote.com/l/AARhc78Da79HIJ0VXrYkrfD...

We've moved to a new location for April, and it's really nice:

(We get that whole space to ourselves)

Who are we:

Real Estate Investors and wannabe investors living in South Korea

Where do we invest:

EVERYWHERE including:

In the US (to name a few):

Jacksonville, Florida; Yuma, Arizona; Kansas City, Missouri; Indianapolis, Indiana; Illinois; Florida; Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Nebraska

In Korea:

Seoul, South Korea; Bundang, South Korea; Sokcho, South Korea; & one other place I can't remember.. ^^

Internationally:

the Philippines; Hong Kong; Ireland; Taiwan; England

Who's this meetup for:

Are you interested in investing, currently investing, or wanting to learn more about investing in the US, Korea or internationally?

Can you make it to Hongdae on April 25, from 1-3p?

Can you invest $5 (5,000 W) in your future for the chance to hear from great, experienced speakers and meet with other investors?

Then, we welcome you to attend!

What this meetup is not:

We are not a pitch forum. We're here to help each other out and to continue learning. If you have deals you'd like to discuss, that's okay. But we're not here to market any specific product or service.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER

The Australian Real Estate Dingo.. none other than Engelo Rumora!

In addition to being a blogger on BiggerPockets and founder of his own company, Ohio Cashflow, @Engelo Rumora, has done over 300 real estate deals and he'll be discussing how he got into real estate, the lessons he's learned, and the ins and outs, ups and downs, sideways and backwards of turnkey investing and rehabbing.

Engelo is going out of his way to help us out by agreeing to speak at 12:30am his time, so please make sure you arrive on time at the meetup or you'll miss out on both Engelo's wisdom as well as motivating charisma!

ALSO, SPEAKING WILL BE

@John Van Uytven, fellow co-organizer and founder of this meetup! He'll be talking about his future plans and he prepares to return to the US, as well as the investment deals he's done and is working on. He was telling me a little about a Mobile Home Park he was thinking about investing in and hopefully, he'll share some of the details with the group.

We'll also have, as always, a local Korean market specialist who will help educate us on what's happening in Korea.

SPECIAL THANKS TO THE BIGGER POCKETS COMMUNITY!

The fact that our meetup exists and continues to grow is in large part a testament to the power of BiggerPockets. John and I met through BP and we started meeting at a coffee shop in Itaewon. After a few meetings, we created a Meetup Page and were able to virtually bring on great speakers from BP such as:

Joshua Dorkin - Clip of his appearance

@Brandon TurnerClip

@Ali BooneClip

and now Engelo!

The community support has been fantastic and I love being able to report back on our victories in growing this meetup to now.. +180 members!

In fact, thanks to the support and our growth (okay.. and some tireless work by the organizers ^^), we were able to meet at this new location. We had to pass through a screening and they liked what they saw!

Our meetup definitely proves that real estate does not have to be a backyard sport - with the right contacts, the right people on the ground, the right networks, and the right knowhow, there's no reason to limit yourself or your opportunities.

There's always risk in overseas investing - whether you're doing what many members are doing and investing in the US while living in Korea or even being a foreigner and buying real estate in Korea.

But RISK is a good thing - without it, there would never be any opportunities for those who are willing to work just a little harder to make it happen.

Come join the fun! Get educated! Network with great people! And help us build this community!

SHOUT OUT TO OUR MEMBERS ON BP:

Co-organizer, @Ben Hauser

@Josh McNicoll

@Dustin Karns

@Robert E. Medlock II

@Sandra Roddy

@Paul Wurster

@Account Closed

(If I left you off the list, sorry! But post so I know ^^) Also, if you're part of the group, be sure to colleague request me.

Also, if you're interested in making stronger connections with Korean investors or to learn about the Korean market, feel free to PM me. I'll be more than happy to share with you what I know and possibly set you up as a speaker.

Thanks and see you next Saturday on April 25!

(Oh.. and in case anyone wants to know more about me - I know how important credibility is for people you meet 'online' - here's a podcast interview I did with Marketing In Korea discussing my 17 years in Korea as well as the growth of this meetup)

@Frankie Woods

Thanks for the follow up! I hope you keep us posted on BP. I'd love to hear how it turns out.

@Ben Leybovich

LOL.. I guess that works. If my future deals fall through, maybe I'll give it a try too ^^

@Frankie Woods

Thanks for adding to the thread!

The syndication - they are acting as one entity? Did they pool funds form an LLC?

I've thought about using a similar approach - pooling funds and creating one entity structure to use as a partner on another deal.

I hope things go well!

@Clint Kreider

Yeah.. add me to the email list too!

What I've done is had a sign up sheet and included a box that said "Please don't share my contact info." So far, no one has checked that box. I've only shared emails with people who have asked - I don't share phone numbers. I haven't shared email info with outside parties though - only people who attended or expressed interest in attending.

I'm not sure if it make sense for the group, but if you set up a Meetup via Meetup.com, then people can add their profile info and contact each other within the system. There's also a way to email all the members at once within the system too.

Let me know if I can help in anyway!

(This might be too difficult to manage but if there was a way to videotape it, I'd watch it and share a recap with others..

Here's a sample of a recap. Not all of them are this detailed; it's been harder after our meetup grew... https://www.evernote.com/l/AASOkVpCUOpOJ5jUeCSQJC3... - I erased the emails in this sample, but usually I'd keep them in for our group members.)

@Clint Kreider

Hey Clint!

Great to hear about your meetup.

I'm wondering, since I'm still in Korea, is there a way to get a contact list of people who are attending, along with their area of interest? I'm not sure if people want to share contact info.. but if so, I'd be interested in both adding my name as well as getting the contacts of others.

Thanks!

@Josh Caldwell

Once again, Josh, thanks a bunch for the info.

That makes a lot of sense!

@Josh Caldwell

Thanks for the follow up comment. I'm definitely the detailed oriented type so if I need funding for my first deal, I think I can put together a pretty good packet. Most likely, though, I'll fund myself or at least have lots of skin in the game.

@John Van Uytven

Good points..Good intentions don't always = execution.

Thanks for the input!

@Neil Aggarwal

That's great to hear. I'm happy for the people of Plano.

Great feedback everyone!

Thanks for the input. It's truly great to hear about other people's direct experiences.

I agree that if were to accept funds from friends, I would definitely treat it like a business with as much professionalism as possible in terms of updates, etc.

When @Ali Boone spoke at a meetup in Seoul, Korea that I help organize, she also mentioned how important contact was. I agree with that too - lots of communication and updates are important to giving people a sense of control.

I hadn't thought as much about the backup sources. @Jeff S.

 for suggesting the idea.

I was messaging with @Bill Gulley

 the other day about financing and the topic of friends coming through with promised financing came up. He thought it might be an interesting thread to post, so here goes:

What experiences do people have when it comes to friends 'following through' with promised investments for your first deals?

Since I'm a newer investor who has had friends express an interest in investing together in future deals, I'd like to hear what others have experienced.

Thanks!
