Thanks for the welcome and the feedback.

err... I may be on the wrong track, but I was thinking that being occupied making a a living for the time being in a field where I am constantly seeing, showing, selling property that it would expose me more to an area I know little about but am fascinated by.

I also thought that by virtue of industry itself, I'd gain access to multiple data resources that would combine info for work and for self.

As a novice, wouldn't learning real estate help with future intended investing, while earning an income as I learn? I mean, I certainly could earn in some other field of sales and learn about RE investment on my off-time, but why not learn and earn at the same time?

Oh. I guess it might make sense to mention that I have spent 20 years in sales (cars) and that has been my livelihood, ergo, the bent toward RE SALES to earn while I learn.

I also have a finance background - would I be better off getting a mortgage license and earn in THAT field?

(As a new learner and no immediate $$$ to invest, I might be too much in the "small potatoes" category for anyone to waste too much time with me.)

Mary

I am just about to stick my toe in the real estate waters....

Strange, that it would so intrigue me in what is a currently distressed market, but -hey - it's a subject that has long intrigued me.

I thought I should get my real estate license first, then get educated on the market and industry through sales (and make some $$$ while learning), then through exposure to how others sell and buy (and sharing their other experiences) I can learn about where to invest.

Am I on the right track?
