Thanks @Bryan Crow, I will check them out and let them know you sent me!

Thanks @Tj Hines, I plan to attend the local meeting, but I am currently out of state. So I’ve started networking remotely before moving back.

Hello, I’m currently looking analyzing two 8 unit apartment complex deals each in Pensacola, FL and Panama City, FL. Can anyone recommend a good property management company in either/both cities?

Hello, I'm in the same boat as @Casey Sung. I am also interested in investing in GA and trying to figure out good areas to invest. I have family in Norcross, so figured I would start there and move outward. Is anyone familiar with that areas or the surrounding? Or have any real estate agents you could recommend?

@Kevin Romines Good to know. Thanks for the update and great info!!!

@Kyle Brown I definitely understand how that changes things. My opinion is coming from a single person's perspective.

@Moises Mari @Thomas D. @Stephanie P.

Understood. Good to know. Thanks.

I thought about this as well, but I’m tired of reading about real estate, I’m ready to do it! So I’ve decided as soon as I move back to the states, I am looking for my first investment property. I have to live somewhere anyway, so I might as well try househacking while keeping my day job to pay for my student loan. I’ve started prepping now by reducing my expenses to the bare bone, paying off small bills, and saving cash. Worse case scenario: I end up in a multifamily property and have to pay on the monthly mortgage (but it’s money going towards something I own instead of to someone else). Best case scenario: I live rent free with extra cash flow to pay towards my student loans. But I’m just a newbie with a higher risk tolerance than the average person, so take what I say with a grain of salt! Just ask yourself what would make you happier 5 years from now: being debt free with no properties or making extra payments on your student loans with a cash flowing rental property?

Welcome! I look forward to following your journey! I currently live in Guam, but I’m planning to move to NJ Summer ‘19. The plan is move in with a friend in Bloomfield until I find my first multifamily property to househack. I’ve only been to NJ twice so I’ve been researching as much as possible from afar. I get feedback from friends that Newark is a bit rough, but there are areas that are improving. Based on the properties is seems that east of Broad St. are the nicer areas and further west seems to be at a lower price point. Is that accurate? What areas of Newark do you feel are safer?

Good luck on your journey!!!

I am looking to move to/near Bloomfield next August. I visited a friend that lives there in May and it seems like a nice area. I am currently saving and trying to study the area online to the best of my ability.  I am hoping to househack as well. This chat has been helpful. Please keep me updated on places to look and avoid.
