Welcome @Cody Brownfield

I am from the Cincinnati area as well (NKY) I am quite younger.. 18 lol I am learning a lot on here. I plan to purchase my first home in about a year or so. Pretty cool to see all of these people on here from our area! Would be cool to meet up and discuss REI!

@Shawn Mcenteer Yes, I am sorry for this, like I said I kind of just rushed this and didn't get in depth.

I am going to look around. I am only 18 so I have plenty of time to prepare. Like I said before, I do plan to possibly purchase a duplex or triplex and get it through FHA loan. I don't really plan to do it right away considering I am pretty new with this whole thing. And why rush? especially at the age I am at. But when it comes time, my goal is to buy and flip.

Thanks for the input curt Davis I personally believe it will be difficult at first. Maybe start with a duplex? I have talked with some people and they say start with that, and do it through an FHA loan. I

I was pretty broad with this. I had a few questions I needed to ask and did explain in depth.

Okay, So before I head into REI I am working with a family member who owns apartments. I am going to help work on what needs to be fixed. It is a great start for me to gain some knowledge.

I do have a couple questions- Like I said I am new LOL.  When I plan to invest, I am going to buy fix and flip.

With that being said, what is a good amount to save up before purchasing a first home?

What is the most crucial thing to know about this business?

I do want to join this business because it is a great money maker if done right and because this is very interesting to me! Don't be afraid to be blunt and tell me things that I NEED to know!

Hey everyone!

I have some relatives who own some apartment buildings in Cincinnati and I am going to start helping them fix the place up. I am pretty excited about it to get some hands on learning. As I have been reading a lot and educating myself, I have thought about possibly starting my REI in Southern California. Now with the prices being pretty high, I would like to know if this would be a smart idea or not?

Hey everyone,

I am new to the whole REI and I am looking to find a job in rehabbing houses. If anyone from around here knows of a job, or is big into homes that need work I am highly interested in helping out! I am eager to learn everything about this business and would love to work to gain knowledge!

@Clay Manship yes I know that I want to get I to get into flipping. I'm not planning to jump into it until around 20. (A little over a year) I want to learn EVERYTHING I possibly can and work hands on.  But I do know I want to flip houses.  Start with a number per year, and keep adding per year. I'll want to expand but I don't even want to talk about that yet until I achieve my first goal

@Clay Manship  I will for sure look into it. I guess starting with little experience, I can't jump to the big things. I'll have to make my baby steps

@Darrin Carey Well since I am new to the game, I am considering getting a job like construction rehabilitation to educate myself. However, with the proof of steady income I still don't know if it will be enough. I also buy and sell electronics right now (I do not enjoy it) and it makes decent money for the age I am at.

It is kind of tough for me to turn to family and friends because my family isn't the richest. Don't get me wrong we live comfortable, but not enough to just hand me money. I have considered talking to someone though because their credit is great, and they are about retire. I am kind of hoping they will get me on my feet

@Clay Manship

I have looked into FHA, but as I was reading on it, I was told that you cant use that loan to flip. I got the impression that loan is for me to move into a home for my purpose. I also read that with FHA, I could get a multi-family home as long as I am living in one side.
