Californian are now allowed to use marijuana for recreational use in private place. (not in the street)

As for Federal laws, it is not legal to have a pot-shop (unless for medical patients). They will start issuing licenses for those in 2018.

@Nicholas LaGatta Agree with what was said before. Lawyers shouldn't charge for a standard contract like this unless there is some customization or major change wich normally don't run as far as 1k.

Hate to hear lawyers trying to upsell their client on everything...

@Toby Russell Agreed. LLC is recommended for liability purposes.

Although, if you go that route and purchase several condos in future, you might want a different LLC for each.

The reason is in the case of a lawsuit involving a property kept in an LLC; only that one will be at risk instead of all of them (if you keep them all under one LLC).

But that being said, you should always consult with an attorney.

@Robert Lee Normally you should have your tenant money in different accounts. There is probably three main reason for that.

If you keep deposits in the same account:

• You can't track the money
• There could be accidental spending
• Interest accrual
