Hi, I've been told by a few people not to use the words "wholesale" or "flip" with real estate agents or mortgage brokers when explaining what type of properties I'm looking for. Anyone agree with this? If so, why and what should I say instead? I'm not a big fan of playing games ... Thanks

May try to do lunch. We'll see what the majority's availability is

Hi everyone, I'm looking to start meeting people in this field, newbie or experienced, just to share experiences and learn from each other. I live in Round Rock so anyone in north Austin, Pflugerville, Cedar Park or Georgetown interested in getting together some time? I've been to the real estate club meetings and meet ups but I'm not very good at talking to others in a large group setting (I'm working on it!). I prefer one on ones or small groups. Hope to start meeting some local biggerpockets members!

@Michael Quarles if we do the pre-fixes for example and do a lot of random numbers, how can we quickly weed out the owners that say they would consider selling but are not distressed sellers? Thanks!

@Heath Clendenning

@Ethan Summers and a lot of others have mentioned using skip tracing. @Michael Quarles also mentioned to Pick a prefix of the area you want to buy in. There are 10,000 number for each prefix. I also noticed in other posts that a lot of people call FSBO owners since they are in the market to sell and their phone number is readily available.

Hi @Robert Leonard, do you knwo fi the realtor.com app still has the scout feature? I can't find it but want to make sure I'm not just missing it as it sounds like an incredibly helpful tool. Thanks!

@Hadar Orkibi that's perfect thank you!

Hi everyone, I'm wanting some help on how to best convey this to friends and family. I want to let them know about my real estate investing so they can keep their ears open for me but I don't know how to explain to them the type of property I'm looking for. I'm afraid they'll think I'm trying to take advantage of people when they're down, rather than create a win-win situation which is what we do. Thanks for your help.
