In today's economic environment we have to be creative so subto and seller finance have got to be more common terms we are using.

Depends on where you are. In the City of Maryville they don't allow STR.
If you are in the county then you can as long as there are no subdivision restrictions. 
Prices are high in Maryville and you don't see the steady income that you do in vacation markets. 

Along the Dragon itself, I think a well outfitted Airbnb that is catered to motorcyclists will do well. There are a few along there and in the Happy Valley already. 
Realize that it'll be very seasonal but if you buy right then I think it will do ok. 
It's not a home run but it's got potential if it's budget friendly.  

Outside of that I'd be hesitant. I have 2 LTR in Maryville and considered trying STR on one but in the end I didn't want to spend the money to update and furnish it as I wasn't confident it would pay off.
