No, it has been empty, no water at all at least the 3 years that I have known of the residence, probably a decade or more, I would assume since the owner was in his 90’s.  I will find out the details from a family member tomorrow.

Any interest in off loading the property or partnering up on the deal? If so shoot me over a message, if not best of luck!
Thanks for reaching out, but I was outbid by a well-known investor.  In fact they look like they will be starting demo soon, the dumpster just arrived today.  I am interested to see what their plan is, hopefully the contractor won’t mind me asking some questions.  But thanks again.

@Scott E. I love to hear your story, because that is what my hope would be, that some people actually care about what is going to happen to their childhood home.  And thank you for not tearing it down and building some giant square box with a flat roof taking up the entire perimeter of the property.  But…. I actually had an experience in my own neighborhood, where I knew the elderly gentleman that passed away, met with the son (who seemed very lovely and reminisced about his childhood).  I was very honest about my interest in preserving the home’s history and making sure it still blended in the neighborhood.  But at the end of the day, the person (well named flipper) with the highest bid wins the day.  I am still glad to hear that is not always the case though. But, I totally agree that you have to be honest, no matter what.

Yes I definitely always bring my contractor. I just happen to be rather familiar with the property and was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with these abandoned pools.  I’ve seen quite a few on some listings in the Phoenix area. Thanks for the input!

Any suggestions for calculating rehab costs for a SFH that has a pool that has been left empty for 10+ years?

What are good options in Phoenix to refinance after rehabbing a potential STR/AirBNB?
