Not sure if this has happened yet, but I'm a KC investor and would love to jump on!

@Bruce Lynn My husband and I did in fact decide to attend DML! We attended 2 of Sumrok's online events last year

@Micah Miller after reading your comments I'm feeling more sure DML is the right one for us at this time. I'm looking forward to the more hands on approach and being able to dig into all the details

@Suyen Fernandez did you decide if you'll attend in person? Look forward to meeting anyone here who plans to be there!

From a passive investor's perspective...Having just started investing in syndications with 4 different operators I can say it's frustrating when all you get sent every month is a bunch of graphs and spreadsheets and absolutely no other communication. They're not all this way, but I now have a sense of what good investor relations should look like. We definitely need to go through all the financials, but some written communication summarizing how the property is doing, where they're at in the value-add process, and any info good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.  It doesn't necessarily need to me monthly, but at least quarterly. IMO....

@Justin Goodin this post is a few months old but the topic always comes back around! Do you mind if I DM you about a few programs. Looking at several now but would really appreciate some insight.

@John Casmon thanks great advice! Sitting and listening is the easy thing to do but "intentional" networking is taking action.

Thank you all for the feedback. I'm likely going to Michael Blank's event since I've done two of Sumok's virtual events already. Would like to experience something different. There's hasn't been an announcement yet as to who will be speaking, but after reading about past events, I'm sure it be a great list!

@Alex Ramirez Yes, that helps! Over the last year I was able to attend 2 of Sumrok's virtual events which I did learn quite a bit from but those too were big on trying to get attendees to invest in their programs, either as an LP or GP. I appreciate that you felt the networking at DML was great and that is what I'm more wanting right now as I've spent most of the last year engrossed in MF books and podcasts. It's now time to get in the mix of like-minded people!!

@Bruce LynnThank you for your feedback. From what I've seen with Brad's programs is that it is definitely its own ecosystem with plenty of LPs in they're Foundations program to invest/partner with students in their mentoring program. Guess that's a win-win for everyone. In the past year, my husband and I have invested in 5 syndications in different markets with 2 in Texas. I imagine since a lot of Sumrok's students are from Texas, that many syndications originating from their program will be deals primarily located in Texas. So yes, thinking about where I want to invest next should be part of the consideration.

@Taylor L. Thank you! thinking about the target crowd and time dedicated to networking wasn't something I was considering. I was focusing more on the event content and how much I would get out of it.

I have been waiting for a year for a "live" multifamily investing event to attend in person. Unfortunately, two that I've been interested in will be occurring at the same time, both in Dallas in mid July. UGH! Michael Blank's Deal Maker Live and Brad Sumrok's Aimnatcon both appear to cover the same topics. This would be my first RE conference and want to make the right choice. Can anyone please give insight as to how these 2 events differ? Both are over 3 days, however the DML event costs a bit more. But price aside, what are the opinions out there on the different approaches these two take?  Thank you!
