This may be a rudimentary question, but if you own your primary residence outright, is it a good idea to pull out at HELOC on your home so you can acquire property, rather than going with the traditional loan or a hard money lender?

Hi Erik,

Great to see someone in the Orlando area interested in the same aspect(s) of REI as myself. I am located in Altamonte Springs, FL. I've been looking at the market in and around my area and Central Florida in general is looking pretty hot right now. On the surface it doesn't look like there are very many investment opportunities out there that jump out at me that make sense. Could this be attributed to the turnaround of the housing market here or the back to school rush? I have some cash available to invest and I'm just beginning to scratch the surface of REI.
