I'm looking for my first investment property and am curious about Section 8 housing. I am wondering what people who have done it have to say about their experiences with it.

Hi Jacob, How long have you been investing in Topeka? Are you doing single family homes, multi-family, etc? Would love to hear about your overall experience buying homes in Topeka. Are you using the BRRRR strategy or other? thanks!

I am a total newbie so please forgive me for asking this. But why you would refinance the mortgage when you've already paid a ton of interest on it and now are mostly paying down the principle? Everything I've read says don't do that because once you refinance that you are basically just paying bank interest again. And banks love that.

Everything I'm reading says to chunk down that mortgage principal payment to pay it off quicker, and saving thousands in interest. And then use that equity to buy another property.

Can anyone step in and tell me if I'm totally off base on this? Still learning. thanks!

I lived there for 3 years and my brother and friends are there. So I might retire there someday. The houses there are affordable for me. And my brother in law does the BRRRR method there and will be able to mentor to me.

It's also the capital of the state and has lots of diverse/goverment jobs there. I am also interested in Kansas City and Detroit. But I'm brand new and might find out that none of those markets are good.

Hello,

I am new to investing in real estate. I want to invest in 2 or 3 bdrm houses in the Topeka KS area. I'm just learning about investing and want to learn from other people who are doing it successfully.
