meant to add this to the original posting. However it seems as though you can't edit your post once they're posted, unless I can't figure it out. Anyway this is what I build in my off time, just another look into my life as a welder :)

Hello BP Family! I've only posted a few questions and the people who have reached out have given me tremendous amounts of courage and I love that I can make contacts here so easily!

So anyway, let me introduce myself!

My name is Dave and I'm just outside North Philadelphia in a town called Croydon, right between Bristol-Bensalem-Levittown.

I've been studying and been attending the webinars and podcasts regularly for about 2 months now and I can't express how excited I am to break into this field. As in my life, I love a good challenge, and I love the idea of financial freedom even more!

More about me... I currently work for SEPTA in Philadelphia as a welder/fabricator and while it's a great job I don't wish to see my life gone before I am able to live it, I'm sure you all know the deal with that.

I build motorized drift trikes in my off-time (Google them if you're curious) and they're tons of fun. I even have one just to ride around at car shows, a "show trike" if you would like to call it that.

Anyway, I've worked as a Boilermaker in refineries and a few Nukes and I've also worked on the Tappan Zee bridge which is a 5 mile long bridge from New York to Connecticut, I love my trade and I love the challenge that it brings.

So to sum it up, I am here to learn as much as possible to bring on that first deal!

All in all, I'd love any help anyone is able to provide, and if anyone would like to help me out in person I'd take it up in a heartbeat.

Also, I'm not selling my trade, but since this seems like a family, if you're in my area and need any welding work, I'd be more than happy to help any friendly colleague I meet! Not for sale, possibly a trade off just to pick your brain!!

A long winded post but thanks for taking the time to get to know me and I can't wait to bring this dream to reality!

Thanks again for all that reach out to offer their help to an aspiring investor!

-Dave

P.s. Here is a pic of my show trike incase you wanted to see what it is I do in my off time for myself or to build for friends/clients

Andrew Bosworth Hey thanks Andrew I really appreciate it. I will be looking into both and I'm aiming for rental properties and BRRRR. Sounds great thanks for the insight!

Hello all. My question is simple. I am looking into getting in the game with my first rental. I know you can find multiple ways to finance. However I am in Pennsylvania and I am in a great credit called PSECU. It is the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union. I am just curious if anyone in PA has worked with them in getting financing and how they made out. I love this CU however I know there are multiple ways to finance. Just curious if a credit union is a good way to go, or if there are far better ways to get your financing. If anyone has any experience working with them I'd love your input. Thank you!
Tim Puffer Greg Moritz absolutely. My goal in rei is to BRRRR. Still getting a feel for the numbers in rent and for the most part every aspect of my area. When I say I'm new, I really mean new. I'm really interested and trying still to learn exactly how to get some numbers. I will keep trying and when I come up with something I will be in touch again. Thanks guy!

@Account Closed Great! Good to know I appreciate the input! I will make sure I do my research thanks

I'm new to all of this, I checked out tonight's webinar on BRRRR and everything. I've been reading books trying to figure out all I can. My market around me seems tough, I am just north of Philadelphia. I have two listings here and I'd love if someone could possibly take a look and see if you think these are good investments! Not looking to buy at all or for someone to do it for me, but I'd like to see what anyone else might say about these. Example: if some said these are bad deals, I'd like to try on my own to figure out why. This is more like practice for me and I'd love some help! Another side note. This area is in Bristol PA. It has been on the social media scope due to a "boro renovation contest" the small town has won. There is a ton of work going on around this area. Maybe it will sway some of you in how you may think of these properties? https://smallbusinessrevolution.org/main-street/season-two/finalist-bristol-borough-pa/ http://levittownnow.com/2017/01/28/bristol-docks-construction-beginning-monday/ Check out this home at Realtor.com $149,900 3beds 2baths 358 Lafayette St, Bristol http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/358-Lafayette-St_Bristol_PA_19007_M39207-60585 Check out this home at Realtor.com $155,000 4beds 2+baths 340 Dorrance St, Bristol http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/340-Dorrance-St_Bristol_PA_19007_M38844-26291 Thank you!

I was just curious. I am new to investing and I'd love to keep learning, I'm determined and don't want to give up! So, I am outside of Philadelphia and it takes me 5 minutes to actually leave my house, cross the bridge and physically be in New Jersey. However my concern is this: if I do not live in New Jersey currently, is there any hurdles I should be aware of with looking at an investment house over there? Specifically multifamily if that makes any difference?

Thank you!

That's the only real info I have is the renovation project. However I'm still learning about rent prices and if it can be positive flow. Gotta keep doing my research and studying it can be fun
