@Ian W. Welcome to Tokyo!  I'm also in Tokyo, and would be happy to catch up for coffee or whatever.   My schedule is usually quite flexible, let me know if you'd be interested in meeting up.

@Michael J. - Welcome!  Happy to connect and talk real estate.

The  monthly meetings can be good, and I'll try to make the June one (June 15).  Also happy to grab a coffee or whatever.

Good luck!

Hey @Alan Sue - welcome.  Echoing what Bill said, joining the monthly meetup in Tokyo can be a quick way to meet a diverse handful of active investors here in the Tokyo area.  We meet at 7 pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month at Brewdog Roppongi.

Also happy to connect and chat about all things real estate.

Hey @George Lea - welcome.  I'm also in Tokyo.

Good timing on your, as we have a monthly meet up in Tokyo on the third Thursday of each month.  You should try to join us at the next one, Thursday, March 16.  We meet at 7 pm at Brew Dog in Roppongi.  Feel free to message me for more info.

Good luck,

Dave

@Anthony T. - Not sure what's bringing you over here, but if you're in Tokyo and timing permits I'd be happy to meet up.  You'll just miss our monthly BP meet-up (third Thursdays, so Feb. 16), but I might be able to round up a few others.

Hi @Samuel R., welcome.

I'm also based in Tokyo, where I recently started looking to invest.  I'd encourage you to meet other BP-ers here in Tokyo, like @Bill Baldwin and others, who have been super helpful and really an invaluable source of information and advice.  For me it was eye-opening to hear about what some investors are doing here.

If your schedule allows, you should join the monthly BiggerPockets meetup, which is held on the third Thursday of each month, in the Roppongi area.  The next meeting is Thursday the 16th of February.

I'm happy to field any questions or meetup sometime, and good luck.

@Celia Chu - thank you very much.  I'd be very interested in reviewing any comps-related information you have and in hearing your recommendations for lenders.  I'll reach out to you offline.

I'm also interested in learning of generally prevailing loan conditions in the area, including down payment thresholds and length of loan terms.

Hi All - I'm looking for thoughts on investing in single-family/multi-family properties in the greater Riverside (California) area.  From a numbers perspective I've only begun to research the area, but I have personal reasons for targeting it.

I'd be interested in your thoughts, success stories and tales of caution.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for lenders (both conventional and alternative) and/or brokers in the area, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

@Haseeb Awan - Thanks for the message.  Yes, I'ms still in Tokyo and would be happy to meet if schedules permit.  You may already know, but the BP-ers try to meet the third Thursday of each month, meaning December 15th next month.  If that doesn't work for you (or me), we can try something else.

Just had my first trip to Ottawa a couple of weeks ago - great place.
