Post: Looking for Owner Occupy Multifamily near JBLM/Tacoma/Puyallup

My family is moving to the area in the next 4 months and I would like to purchase a distressed Multifamily in a decent area and rehab it over the course of 12 months and then move out and move on to something else. If you have anything in the areas of Tacoma/Yelm/Roy/Lakewood/Puyallup/Spanaway/Lacey let me know.

Thanks,

Dave

Hey guys,

I am looking for some advice..... I am active duty military stationed overseas. I currently co-own one triplex with my brother which we bought last year. My wife and I want to start actively investing and have 40k cash.... I will be returning back to the states in six months or so at which point I plan on buying either a duplex or quadplex and fixing it up over the course of the year we live there, then refinancing it with a conventional loan and reusing my VA loan for something else. But right now I was thinking about using a turn key service somewhere in the Midwest to get the ball rolling for the time being and see how it goes.....I have been looking at Ohio cash flow, but the bottom line is my wife and I don't have the time or mental injury after the last two years of total stress to dea with ALL the intricacies of flipping or managing ourselves.... Our end game is to get s30-40 doors in the next 10 years so we can have enough passive income to live comfortably....look forward to hearing from all your expert ideas and opinions! Let me know if you have had personal experience with a turn key company and what the outcome was!

Thanks,

Dave

Hey guys! Dave Pierce here (active duty military member). My wife and I really want to start actively investing in real estate. I think getting started seems to always be the biggest hurdle for everyone! For us, like a lot of military families, it seems overwhelming given the fact we are always moving every 2-3 years, so how do we get to know the market? I know my home town decently (southern Washington state, Portland, Camas, Washougal, Vancouver)but the prices in the area seem to be almost at a bursting point! I have been thinking about doing some investing in either Dallas, Memphis, or Austin (given the better cash flow from SFH, as well as MFHs). I started talking to an investment firm which finds good rehabs, does the rehabs, and then manages the rental. I am finding it difficult to think of the best way to bust into this market without being on the ground in the location. Right now we have around 30k cash we could use to get started on something, and then we will take advantage of the VA loan when we move back stateside (currently in Germany). Any advice on how to go about doing this thing while moving, and all the complications of being in the military would be great! Also, anyone want to team up or knows some good contacts let me know. Thanks, Dave
I would agree - lets get it made!

What are your thoughts on turn key investment businesses that handle all aspects of the investment to the management? Seems like a better option for out of state investing
