Houston is definitely a good place to invest in. It is pretty much recession proof. There are no zoning laws. It's very diverse in many ways. I may be bias because I have lived here for 12 years but, its amazing. Multi family is definitely the best investment in my opinion.

I genuinely want to know why people assume wholesalers are bad or dishonest? I am thinking about becoming as a means to get into the real estate arena. I have gone to networking event and hear people talk negatively about wholesalers, online I see people saying don't trust a wholesaler. The main complaint are usually the non refundable fee or them overvaluing the property.

@Dennis Rodriguez  do you have any advice that you would give to new wholesalers in the Greater Houston area?

Following! @Ankith Chandra are you planning on hiring contractors or doing the rehabbing yourself? Also,  are you looking for multi-family, single family or does it not matter as long as the deal is right?

I am curiousto if you personally do you due diligence if your selling as is.  Does the buyer do their due diligence if buying as is and how you allow the buyer to do their due diligence  if you are wholesaling?

I am new to Bigger Pockets. I found out about it from Brandon Turner's "Investing in real estate with no and low money down". I have been interested in real estate since 2012 but, finally worked up the courage to pursue it as my future business and career. I'm pretty familiar with the Houston market. I learned residential electrical systems and I'm a licensed apprentice electrician. I am currently in plumbing school. I would like to network in the Houston area to help investors with their daily operations and gain day to day knowledge of real estate investing. My goals are to begin wholesaling within 6 months, then rehabbing and renting within 2 years. Any advice helps!
