@Avi Garg, Thank you for your response.

So, basically, you were just transferring from your personal bank account here in Usa to your parents bank account in Russia? I would prefer dollars to dollars, will the mortgage rate be effected? I just know, if establishments see a foreign person, they charge them more. I am not sure if this will be the same with banks.

How do banks to their underwriting process? What have you experienced?

I was also wondering If I could be sharing the deed with my parents and be a partial owner while living in USA. Or will I be just their sponsor?

@Avi Garg,

Thank you, I could probably  take a personal loan - have you ever practiced that for buying a property outside of USA?

To buy in Russia will be cheaper for me then here because of the power of the dollar there now. I guess, I need to make sure the seller will be able to work with dollar currency and accept transfer of payments from USA.

I will be calling those apartment complexes this week to find out,

Thank you

@Paul Donoghue,

This is such a great information. Thank you so much for sharing these two websites.

Do you send direct marketing as well once you find something on the website? Would it be better to send a card or a letter?

I used to drive for dollars a lot and send marketing to those folks. I eventually found my first property for buy and hold through MLS, however I focus to go back to sending mails for wholesale deals.

I also used a list from MLS , public records for folks who owned house for over 25 years. There is a big chance the house needs updates, people are retiring and want to spend their time elsewhere or just simply cannot take care of their homes anymore. I was able to wholesale one deal through list which I got for Free from my agent. I helped the homeowner and was happy to get started.

I have a hard time renting my unit and finding the right tenant. I am in MA. I finally met a sweet couple who passed background check but they have a pitbull. I love dogs myself and I met this dog, big, 2 years old and seems to be very well behaved but active. I have been told many times " no dogs" , however I want to take them. I have refinished hard wood but they said they would put carpets to save the floor because that dog will definitely scratch them. I am still thinking , however should I just charge more and extra deposit ?  Thank you,

Hi @Willy Waldron,

I have not doen business with them as far as business CC or loan. My anniversary with them will be in March and I hope they will be on my side. Though, I plan to speak with their portfolio lending management on possible business loans with good rates, I do not have a history of consistent income yet, so that is a challenge.

However, I hope my personal credit will help to establish trustworthy relationships.

I will keep you posted.

Hi @Account Closed,

Thank you for your response.

I am researching on Russian banks that give loan to USA residents to purchase real estate. I am sure interest rates will be high. I will keep my Russian citizenship, so this will be a goo thing.

I really hope it will work out and I buy and an apartment without involving my relatives out there for any mortgage commitment,

I know Watertown Savings Bank is a Portfolio Lender. They are local and customer oriented.
