Post: Short Term Rental in NJ

Hello all,

I am looking for suggestions for STR markets that are hot in NJ. Currently under contract with a 3 bed 2 bath I had in Vernon, NJ. I'm not sure if it was because house was pretty big (and also started during pandemic) but the house really only rented during the weekends. Months ended with either breakeven or very little profit.

I am currently looking for places that would provide me a market of consistent clientele, as that house in Vernon would only attract certain clientele, at least in my opinion. (Near Ski resort, spas, water park in the summer, etc)

Any suggestions and recommendations why would be extremely helpful.

TIA

Hey BP.

I want to get started in real estate. Have been itching to the past year and a half. My grandparents seem to willingly help me start my first flip (no green light yet) by funding the operation and obviously I take care of everything else.

Just wondering if it’s even a good idea given the current circumstance with COVID and everything else, I don’t want to get stuck with a property I can’t flip, especially when it’s not even my money putting in the work.

Would love to hear some opinions on what you guys think.

Thanks

Danny

@Cassi Justiz thank you for your response! Definitely something I had in mind, although I more so meant in the marketing aspect of things.

Hey there, BP. I am a 20 year old newly licensed agent in North Arlington, NJ (North NJ area) and am trying to find my way to navigate getting started on making a name for myself. I haven’t signed up for Premium yet, but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Anyone can tell me how has it been working for them as an agent?

Also what are some alternatives to getting my name out there, especially being a 20 year old? (which most people wouldn’t confide in to make what could be biggest purchase of their life)

Thank you in advance for the replies. No stepping on eggshells I can handle criticism!
