Hello!

So i'm curious, when you started your real estate career how did you find your mentor?

I've been practicing real estate for almost a year now and i'm really enjoying it! But i'm missing a mentor and would like to know how others in this industry came across their mentor that helped in establishing a solid business for themselves down the road.

Post: Getting the most out of an LLC - Arizona

Hello BP Community,

I'm a relatively new agent in Phoenix, AZ ~8m in. My goal is to really get going on some deals this year and my broker highly recommended I open up a PLLC for myself. So I filed with the state about a week ago.

Just incase anyone out of AZ is reading this, as far as I understand a PLLC (Professional Limited Liability Company) is the same as any standard LLC, just not all states have the PLLC option. PLLC is an option for anyone who has a license to perform a service (lawyers, real estate agents, ect.)

My question is once my PLLC is formed what do I need to do to get the most out of it? A lot of what i've read online says the IRS will look at some LLC's as a "disregard entity" if they don't follow certain steps and rules. I don't think it can be as easy as just getting my commissions deposited to the business account I will open when the LLC is formed to get a tax break, so what would I need to do exactly to get the most of this and not be looked at as a "disregarded entity"?

Appreciate the help!

Hey there Enrique, I'm a residential agent in the central Phoenix area. If there's anything I can help out with feel free to reach out. I'd love to connect and hear how your experience goes when you make the move. I too hope to buy my first multifamily investment within the next year or so here in Phoenix. Always good to see likeminded individuals on BP!

Hello BP community,

Little background about myself: Born and raised in Arizona. Went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ and graduated in 2014. Started working in the banking industry and after about a year of that decided that the big corporate America way of life wasn't for me. So I went to real estate school and just got my license a little over a month ago. Now I’m working for a broker and doing primarily residential rentals.

I’d like to eventually turn investing into a full time job but feel that I have a lot more learning and saving to do before getting my hands dirty. I’m currently reading the classic Rich Dad Poor Dad and listening to BP Podcasts as much as I can. I’ve learned a good amount and built up some inspiration from the readings and podcasts but wanted to ask fellow peers for some additional advice for someone who is brand new to the real estate industry?

I should add that I don’t plan on living in Phoenix forever so to any investors that have started somewhere, then moved and started up somewhere else how was that experience?
