Make sure you understand these things, otherwise you are an easy target. it could be an inexpensive fix, but the word foundation seems to warrant big bucks. Foundation repair gets expensive when you have to dig under a house and provide additional stbilizing because the ground is loose. If something is cracked that you can see, it's hardly expensive to replace or support.

Tile on wooden subfloor is always problematic, the wood flexes -> tile cracks.

I did not see it unfortunately, but the solution that the contractor told me based from what I can understand is to fill the gaps with epoxy and put a metal brace/plate.

If it is foundation issues, 10-20K for repairs is not uncommon. the good news is most foundation issues are repairable, but can get expensive. Yes, if your foundation is shifting it can cause your tile floors to crack up. Question: when the problem came back, was it the same tiles that were loose again? or new tiles that were not repaired? if the grout was laid too thin when the tile was installed, they can come loose like you are mentioning. Loose subfloors can also cause that. Have you noticed any cracks in the walls, or sticking doors and windows? those are typically symptoms of shifting foundations as well. My recommendation is get 1-2 more opinions. Make sure at least one of these is a foundation specialist. Most companies will give you an assessment and quote for free, so there is nothing to lose. Also, i would recommend at least one of these be an established company with great reputation. their quote will likely be more expensive, but you can trust a better assessment vs saving a few bucks from a craigslist contractor.

Yes it was exactly the same row of tiles, the same tiles they fixed. I have noticed some shifting in terms of doors becoming misaligned a bit but nothing major, and I also see a small part of the wall in the living room that is kind of chipping off. Will try to follow your advice and get a few assessments, always scared of contractors giving me quotes but hoping to get better at it. Thanks!

I have a 50y/o house that we have been living in, 3+ years ago we had the kitchen remodeled including the floors in our living room, one of the primary issues we have before the remodel was the hard wood squeaks in some areas so we decided to have it fixed and also to put in wood look porcelain tiles. It was great and looked good for a couple of months but we noticed that the grout was chipping off and slowly some of the tiles are wiggling out of place it is mainly in 1-2 areas of the house 5 rows of tiles straight across. I had the contractor come back and redo the damage areas and same thing happened after a couple of months.

They checked the crawl space and they saw cracks in the foundation, they saw about 3 separate cracks. My question is in your guys experience is this the problem that is causing our floor issue and after they repair this will everything be fine? Also they quoted me about 13k for the repair of the foundation, how much does it usually cost?

We purchased a new house and we are hoping to rent this one out and wouldn't want our tenants dealing with this later down the road. Appreciate your guys/girls insight Thank you!

P.S. House is in Canoga Park, CA just in case there are contractors here :)
