I see. So can multiple LLCs operate under one DBA or is limited to a 1/1 basis?

Thanks!

Dan

Thanks for your reply! WOW! I had no idea an LLC could operate under a DBA. It's honestly a little confusing...

I am Mr. REI C. Investor and I create an LLC "REI's Investing LLC" but "REI's Investing LLC" will do business as "Mr. REI's Investments"...

I'm gonna stop there becuse I'm already starting to confuse myself again. Can you shed some light on how this would work?

Thanks again for the reply!

Hey BP comrades!

I just wanted everyone's opinion on this subject as it is one that I have been struggling with for some time. It seems to be about 50/50 from what I'm reading, but, why? What does a DBA do that an LLC doesn't or vice versa? What kind of tax advantages are there for a DBA that an LLC doesn't give or vice versa? I only want to know because I will be sending out my first batch of mailers very soon and I want to be as professional in appearance as possible.

Any little tid-bits "that nobody tells you till its too late" (if any) would be great.

I tried searching for another thread on this topic but I couldn't find anything. Please direct me to it if there is one.

Thanks in advance!

Ryan Young , Good to see another Michigander on this site! I am getting started in the same area you're looking at :) (Oakland County). I just got my materials for my yellow letters in so I'll be sending my first batch out soon. Good luck to you! Maybe we can help each other out sometime?

Jerry Puckett, I love reading your posts because you leave such great information. Thanks and keep it coming! :)

Thanks for the lead Bryan! I will make an effort to attend that meeting. To answer your question I haven't gotten into Wholesaling just yet, very close though. I'm trying to get my stuff together so I'm ready to rock n roll when the sellers come knocking over my front door. :) I've read a few articles where most Rehabbers won't look at a wholesale deal if its on the MLS. So I'm currently picking up leads whilst "driving for dollars", watching craiglist for leads, I just started reading about probates (we'll see what happens with that), and I just registered for listsource and created a couple lists for direct mailings but I'm a little dissappointed with the number of leads it generated for the criteria I put in, I'm not 100% sure how to use it either. Overall I don't want to rely on the MLS if it will reduce the number of good quality cash buyers available. I've got a pretty good idea of what areas see the most investor activity so those are the areas I will shoot for obviously. Does that answer your question?

Thanks again!

Hey BP Comrades! I'm pretty sure this is my first post here and I have to say I love the site. Nowhere else can you find such a positive and up-beat and caring group of investors. Rock On!

My name is Dan and I'm working my way into Wholesaling. I've done a lot of research over the past few months from reading BP forums and taking notes, listening to podcasts, watching youtube videos, building my buyers list, looking for good seller leads in and around my neighborhood (Oakland county), so on and so forth. Well I'm having trouble finding an investor friendly Title Company. I haven't called any just yet but, each one I find from google and check the company's site, 90% have no mention of what I would call standard Assignment capabilities and/or contracts. Some of them have "Assignment of Interest of Land Contracts" though....is that the same thing?

Also, most of those company's dont have Assignment Purchase Agreements with the '&/or assigns' wording. Again, this is all what I've gathered from their websites so far.

I'm asking because I realize that all of my hard work thus far will be worthless without a title company and contracts. I know there are contracts in the BP FilePlace and I have downloaded and read them all but none of them are for my state (Michigan) and I'd like to see what MI contracts look like.

Any feedback on this is appreciated. Any extra hints or tips or tricks are also welcomed! Thanks!
