So I plan to buy a house in the future. Surprising right? Anyways I’m looking to decide which option is a better choice financially. Also it could help me determine when I’ll start off my real estate investing career too. I have originally planned to move to a different state, and in that different state I’d live in an apartment for a year or so just to get a feel of the atmosphere and see if I truly want to live there. If I did, then I would purchase a house. But I also was talking to someone else in these forums and they brought up the idea of living in a duplex, investing in it, and then renting the other unit out. Would I still be able to move out a year later and buy an actual house while renting out the old unit I was living in? If I was, would it be a smarter move anyways?

I am still waiting to turn 18 this year so obviously I won’t have the money or knowledge to invest in a property just yet. But I am looking to invest in the future but I wanted to know what would be a good age to start out or how much money should I put aside to start investing? I currently live in Illinois but I plan to re-locate in Colorado within the next 5 years. I’d like my first investment property to be a 2 unit commercial building if that information helps out at all.

Hello, my name is Damian and I am currently 17 but soon to be 18. I’ve been focusing more on my future and looking to get into real estate as I love looking at houses and good with numbers, too. I’m soon going to take my real estate online classes to obtain my license, become an agent within then next year and do my best to be the best at that job and get to know more about the real estate industry along with reading books and watching videos as well. I know it takes a certain amount of years of being an agent before working your way up to a broker and then eventually a developer. I wanted to ask is a bachelor degree MANDATORY for that job position? Because I plan on getting an associates somewhere in the business or finance field but that’s all I plan on achieving when it comes to general schooling.

Hi everyone, my name is Damian and I am 18 years old looking to get into real estate and become both an agent and an investor. I eventually want to work my way up the ladder and attempt at becoming a real estate developer too. But I have a quick question, at what age would you say is a good age to start investing?
